The transmedial duo INTER_SECTION - Sabine Ercklentz (trumpet, electronics) and Claudia Schmitz (moving image on Skultpur, electronics, Unfolded Screen) - develops space-related audiovisual real-time performances with different guests.

The first INTER_SECTION project was realised in 2020 in collaboration with the pianist Magda Mayas . Over the past 20 years, she has developed a vocabulary that also includes the inside of the piano. She uses amplification, preparations and objects as extensions that themselves become part of the instrument.

In 2022 the Duo continued the collaboration to jointly explore the meaning of space - as a concrete place of encounter and as co-performer. In the performance itself, the separation of audience and stage is eliminated in exchange for a communally shared perceptual space.
The goal is to create a sound-image synthesis in real time, in which the dichotomous perception of image and sound and the linear perception of causes and effects are replaced in favor of a collective sound-image-space experience.
